In November 2002, an Early Childhood Development Committee in the North Okanagan was formed to guide the future direction of the Ministry of Children and Family Development ECD activities. The Committee consisted primarily of agencies delivering services to children 0-6 and their families as well as other interested community members. The mandate of the Committee has been to identify strengths and gaps in services, as well as prioritize and achieve effective, sustainable services for young children and their families. In 2007 the name of this group evolved from the ECD Committee to the North Okanagan Early Childhood Development Coalition.

We have a general meeting once every two months, as well as subcommittee which include:

• Healthy Development and Inclusion
• Health and Nutrition
• Marketing and Public Relations
• Parenting Support and Education
