Achiever’s Program

The Achievers program is a unique social program that provides community integration to school-age children who have disabilities that limit their opportunities to fully participate socially in the community. This program runs Tuesday to Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 - 4:00 pm. The children participate in social and recreation activities.  Each child has an individual goal plan that is developed with our professional staff and parents to work toward independence and a lifetime of activity and community involvement.

Mother Goose

Programs are offered free of charge to families throughout the North Okanagan thanks to funds provided by the government and numerous community partners. MG is based on the idea that playful, imaginative language should be an important part of a child’s life from infancy and beyond. Programs welcome parents, grandparents, or caregivers with children aged birth to 4 years. Groups meet once a week for up to 8 weeks to learn rhymes, songs, lullabies and finger plays in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Time is set aside for a healthy snack and socializing for both parents and children. Parents soon learn how a rhyme or song can help almost every situation, from diaper changes to baths and getting ready for bed, and especially when children are cranky or fussy. Programs are held in schools, libraries, and churches.
